Oct 10 - Jackson Hole Wyoming

The day started cooler. Instead of 60’s we have had for 2 days, they are expecting highs in the 30’s in Idaho. That may be warm compared to what we will find in Wyoming today. As we headed to the mountains we could see just a touch of snow on the mountain tops. Then, a little closer revealed a dusting on the plains. When we entered the mountain area there was SNOW! The roads were relatively clear but there were areas that looked icy. We rode into Jackson Hole, Wyoming, about 2 p.m. and checked into the Homewood Suites. This will be our “base” for a couple of days. We walked downtown which is a replica of an old western town – with a Cold Water Creek store! James keeps finding friends everywhere we go! This town really reminds us of Gatlinburg in the 70’s. They have an arch made of deer antlers leading into their park. James met someone in the lobby who was raised in ATHENS! Anne Bennett Moore. Her dad owned Bennett’s department store. She lives in Birmingham. Isn’t this a small world? It is COLD – high about 20. We are watching football tonight and then we will be getting up early tomorrow for a VIP tour of the Tetons and Yellowstone. The view from our suite is a ski lift which is not open yet – but I did get a decent sunset picture. One of our most enjoyable surprises today was that we got to watch a video (U-tube) of Ally walking! Brooks was on there also. WONDERFUL!
