We drove to Kennybunkport and saw the home that President
George H. Bush lived in for a while (He is due there next week).
Years ago we went to Cape Neddick and James
said that is his favorite lighthouse of all we have seen. This time we took a back road toward Cape
Neddick and found a small village that we had not seen before.
It was really a tourist stop and a local
place for the beach. As we went through
the town we noticed how everything was pet friendly. There were water bowls everywhere outside
store doors and many of the stores had signs about pets being welcome.
We also saw a totally new type of
bowling. The pins are shaped like
candles and the balls are very small without holes for fingers. As we watched a small child play his dad
explained that he was from the Carolinas and when he moved here he found that
bowling was different than anywhere he had been. It is really designed for children and they
roll the bowl from between their legs.
It gives them more power. He
agreed that I could take a picture of his son bowling.
We finally made it to the lighthouse. It was just as we remembered. I am really glad we got to see it again.
I talked to Stacey later in the day and she
told me that Dale hurt his leg running around our pool. I am not surprised – he runs through the
rocks and over the corners of the pool like a wild animal. She is going to take him to the vet tomorrow. We are headed to Maine.
